Homes with timber floors will benefit from under floor insulation. Although heat transfer by convection rises, heat transfer by conduction and radiation travels in all directions. If you monitor the temperature under your home in winter it will get down to 6 - 8 degrees.
If you feel your carpet is quite cold to touch, installing insulation under the floor held up by a special mesh will significantly reduce this heat loss. Not only will you save on heating costs but your feet will feel warmer too.
